Authorities in Peru have detained three people — two German and Polish citizens — who tried to smuggle more than 3 thousand tarantulas (great marbles) abroad.
The suspects were preparing to travel to Germany when their luggage aroused doubts during the airport’s search.

After the check, authorities discovered over 3 thousand tarantulas, which were carefully hidden inside socks in an attempt to illegally extract them from the country.
All three people were detained by authorities and now face criminal charges of smuggling.
The case has attracted attention because of the unusual mode of transporting these spiders, which were hidden in the luggage of travelers. /Telegraphy/
