Zelensky raises the alarm: Russia is sending deported Ukrainian children to the front

Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky has made a disturbing statement during the 30th Ibero-American Summit in Madrid, where he claimed Russia has started sending some Ukrainian children deported during the war to the army.

He named this act as a pervert and demanded that it be stopped, referring to thousands of minors who, according to Kiev, have forcibly left Ukraine.

Russia has begun sending some of these children into the army, children who were stolen from us and who have already grown up. She’s a pervert and needs to stop, Zelensky said in front of the participating leaders in the summit.

The head of the Ukrainian state also blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for continuing the war, arguing that the conflict could end if he decides to stop military operations and allow the return of Ukrainian prisoners and deported children.

During the talk, Zelensky also addressed Latin American countries, seeking urgent help with the supply of equipment and materials that would help keep the Ukrainian energy system functional, which has been constantly targeted by Russian attacks.

Meanwhile, in an interview for German television ZDF, the Ukrainian president voiced hope that the US Muslim elections, in case of a democrat victory, could bring increased American aid to Kiev and greater pressure on Moscow.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine enjoys bipartisan support in the US, but underlined the importance of strengthening relations between Washington and Europe in front of Russia.

On the other hand, European Commission President Ursula von der Leeyen announced a new 4.36 billion-euro financial package for Ukraine. According to her, the funds are intended to support the country in facing the fifth winter since the launch of the Russian occupation and to ensure continued European support.

The package includes 3.7 billion euros from the second tranche of macrofinance assistance for 2026 and 658m euros under the loan protection component.

Meanwhile, fighting continues in Ukrainian territory. In the Kiev region, a Russian attack hit a logistical structure in the Bucha area, triggering a major fire in a building allegedly used as a warehouse for building materials. One person was injured, while until the time of the report, no casualties had been reported.
