Inter coach Cristian Chivu has acknowledged that his team did not cope with the proper approach and determination of the derby to Milan, commenting on the loss and physical problems that affected his plans for formation.
After the match, the black technician did not hide his disappointment, stressing that expectations for this confrontation were high, but that the team failed to show the required level.

It is painful to lose a debt when expectations are high, given the season and what we have to protect. Today we had to improvise because of the emergencies of the last two days. We missed the approach, but it’s not all bad, Chivu said.
The coach praised the players’ response during the match, remembering that Inter had the opportunity to equalise the score at 2-2, but failed to exploit the case, as Milan’s goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, made a crucial reception.
Chivu also discovered health problems that forced her to change her plans in recent times. According to him, Bonnie had had a rough night, vomiting and fever until 4:30 a.m., and Pio had fever.
For this reason the technical staff was forced to adjust the formation and seek other solutions. As for Diouf, Chivu explained that he expected the player to use more attack spaces.
The coach, however, refused to let physical problems serve as reasons for the loss. He criticised the lack of aggression and determination, especially in the defence phase.
We are guilty of our stand and lack of defensive play. Last year we had more determination. We need to reconvene that, Chivu concluded, demanding reaction from the team in the next fight.
