Prime Minister Hristian Mickoski praised his working visit to Germany’s Dusseldorf as extremely successful, where he met with political representatives and several companies interested in investing in Macedonia.

In a video address, Mickoski stressed that the day began with a bilateral meeting with the prime minister of the German North Westphalia country, Hendrik Wiest, in which good relations and possibilities for deepening economic co-operation were confirmed.
According to Mickoski, Macedonia is the only country of the six countries in the Western Balkans to have signed an agreement on this kind of bilateral and economic co-operation with this German country.

Mickoski stressed that the North-Westphalia Rajni has about 18 million inhabitants and is one of the most powerful economic regions in Germany, with a gross nominal domestic product of over 900 billion euros in 2025.

If our GDP was about 18 billion euros, then we are talking about an economy 50 times larger, Mickoski stressed, adding that economic opportunities for co-operation are great.

He invited North Prime Ministerhine-Westpholia to visit Macedonia after the state elections, which, according to his statement, are expected in April next year.

During the visit, meetings were also held with several companies, including the German company Geresheimer, which so far has made two investments in Macedonia worth about 120m euros and employs approximately 300 people.

According to Mickoski, the company is planning a new investment on an area of 100,000 square metres, which would increase the number of employees to 500, and the volume of its business in the country would virtually triple.

The prime minister also announced the opening of three new production facilities in December, if activities apply to the plan. They must provide more than 1,000 well-paid new jobs after reaching full capacity.
