Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has hosted the Kosovo Central Bank Governor Ahmet Ismaili, with whom he has discussed finalising Kosovo’s application for membership in the 1st Euro payment zone ( SEPA).

Governor Ismaili has announced Kurti that the financial sector in the country is stable and that the CEC has financial stability.

Also, reforms have been discussed in strengthening financial supervision, modernisation of infrastructure and the approach of legislation with European Union standards.

Another topic of discussion was the development of a quick payment system, T The IPS CIA, which, along with SEPA membership, is expected to contribute to lower transaction costs and increase payment efficiency.

The importance of institutional co-operation for implementing reforms and meeting Kosovo’s commitments under the Development Plan is also stressed.
