THijs Reuten, the Dutch eurodeput invited to the Info Magazine Show in Klan Kosova, has talked about recent political developments in Serbia and expectations for the resumption of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
Reuten has estimated that the victory of the Students’ List in Serbia creates reason for optimism, but has stressed that it is still early to try the new government in Belgrade, as it has not yet started work.

He has said he has read some parts of the political manifesto of this list, stressing that he expects the new government to be formed first and see what its concrete priorities will be.
According to Reuten, there is hope for change in the short term because the Student List has a key element in their programme of accountability, justice and transparency.
I really hope that the new Serbian government, despite its position in dialogue with Kosovo, will make a difference on the issue of responsibility, He declared Reuten for the attack on Banjska.
He has stressed that punishing the responsible for the attack on Banjska would be in line with principles of justice and accountability, which the Student List has included in its political programme.
According to him, such an action could give a new impulse to the Kosovo-Kosovo dialogue process- Serbia and it would be good if the new government in Serbia does so.
However, Reuten has underlined that Kosovo should continue to focus on domestic issues as well, not dismissing the country’s development due to the dialogue process.
He has also criticised the European Union’s approach, praising that sometimes Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is given excessive importance and according to him gives veto to anyone who wants to hinder dialogue.
In the end, Reuten has called for patience, stressing that the new government in Serbia should be given time, but at the same time new energy should be required and the new will to advance the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
