The difficulties of watching at night, obstacles from car lights, and frequent changes in distance may be warning signs of an eye – health problem.

Offtalmologist Rrona Gjinni-Bytyqi, invited to the podcastin Health in the first place, supported by Eye Laseric Center i n United Hospital has explained that these symptoms can also be associated with the queratokonus, a disease that affects the horn of the eye.

During the interview, Djindy-Bytyqi has shown that some patients begin to notice changes in vision just as they drive at night, when traffic lights and street lighting become more disturbing than usual.

According to her, these changes may arise gradually, even among those who have not had such difficulties before.

Patients may in some cases complain only of night vision barriers from light, the ophthalmologist explained.

She has set the example of a patient who has previously driven smoothly at night but who has begun to experience difficulties within months.

Until two or three months ago, I could barely drive at night. I recently started having difficulty driving at night, a typical patient complaint has been quoted by Djind-Bythi.

In addition to the difficulty of driving at night, ophthalmologist also mentioned frequent changes in dioptary as a reason to request more detailed examinations.

She has explained that a patient who has wore glasses for years may notice that dioptery is changing them more than usual, especially during adolescence.

In such cases, she feels that it is important to appreciate whether any other eye problem is behind these changes.

Then we must prove there is something else that is causing the patient this major change of dioptary, she stressed.

Genie-Bytyqi has mentioned yet another symptom that can be shown in patients with Queatokonus: viewing objects as distorted or lights as extended.

Today I see objects as distorted, or I see the lights as extended. I haven’t had this problem before, she illustrated complaints that patients might present.
