Change to White House, Trump appoints cabinet chief

US President Donald Trump has named Stephen Miller to the post of new cabinet chief at the White House, replacing Susie Wiles, just days after the republican defeat in the Muslim elections.

Miller, 41, who currently serves as deputy head of cabinet and national security adviser, will officially take office Monday, November 9th.

I have the pleasure of announcing that Stephen Miller, the current deputy head of the Trump administration cabinet and one of my most trusted advisers, will become head of cabinet, the American president declared.

Susie Wiles, 69, who was the first woman in this post at the White House, will leave the presidential administration to join Trump’s political structures.

The president praised her work, naming her mandate extraordinary.

Even Wiles confirmed his departure by a statement saying that the White House Trump service had been the center of her life.

It cited border security policies, tax reduction and the economy as the administration’s achievement.

Otherwise, Miller has been one of Trump’s closest associates for over a decade since his first presidential campaign in 2016.

It is considered one of the main architects of the administration’s tough immigration policies, including the campaign to expel mass immigrants during Trump’s second term.

His appointment puts one of the most vocal supporters of strengthening immigration controls at the White House’s decision-making centre.

This change in cabinet leadership comes at a time when the Trump administration is facing criticism and increased scrutiny of its immigration operations. Special attention has also received fatal shootings against two protesters from immigration agents in Minneapolis in January, which sparked widespread protests and criticism of the federal authorities’ methods of law enforcement.

The change in personnel also comes after an unfavourable result for Republicans in the Muslim elections, where the Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress.

This result represents a significant political blow to Trump and is expected to increase pressure on the administration for its domestic agenda.

With Wile’s transition to his political structures and Miller’s promotion to the post of cabinet chief, Trump is reforming his closest circle of advisers in a sensitive political moment. /Telegraphy/
