At today’s Assembly session, Musliu demanded that the police director report on the case, saying her request to invite her to the Security Affairs Commission had been rejected by members of the Vetevendosje Movement.
Asking for a report does not mean declaring someone guilty without investigation. It means seeking transparency, response and responsibility for any action or inaction that may have affected this fatality, Musliu said.

It submitted three requirements for institutions: urgent review of high-risk cases, specialising police teams for risk assessment, and legal and budgetary reform for women’s protection.
Musliu requested co-ordination between police, Prosecution and social services for identifying women at risk, as well as practical implementation of defence orders.
Every state official, prosecutor, judge or social worker who neglects the signals of violence must face immediate dismissal and prosecution, she said.
The PDK MP also called for sustainable financing for shelters, stressing that women fleeing violence should not be forced to choose between security and economic survival.
Arlinda Zekaj’s murder is not just a family tragedy. It is the most painful testimony to the failure of our system, Musliu said.
At the end of MP Musliu’s speech, Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiu agreed with the MP’s statements.
I completely agree, Haxhi said.
