The British company returns Audi Quattro to the V8 engine that reaches 10,000 rounds per minute.

The British company Audacious Automotive has introduced the IV model, a modern interpretation of legendary Audi Quattro, equipped with a V8 engine that totals up to 10,000 rounds per minute and, according to the company, can take the car to 200 miles per hour (about 322 km/h).

The new model combines the mechanical base of Audi RS4 of the B7 generation, produced from 2006 to 2008, with a view of Quattro with short-based wheels. The buyers may also choose the use of the original Quattro chariot, though the founder of Audacious Mac Zaglewski, has said earlier that the company avoids classical cars in perfect condition and aims to give new lives to consumed ones.

Another alternative is carbon fiber – fiber chariot, which does not require a donor car. Audacity expects this version to make up about 80 percent of the total product to be broadcast.

Even though Quattro became famous for the five-cender engine, the company selected RS4 with the V8 engine as the basis for the new project, as it offers an appropriate combination between modern comfort and traditional guidance experience. According to Zaglewski, the car should be used, fun and analogic.

This approach also ruled out the use of the current Audi RS3, which has a five-litre 2.5 litre engine, as it would not enable the installation of a manual transmission. Zaglewski also said RS3 has a less rigid structure than RS4 B7 and an apparently weaker suspension system. Furthermore, RS3’s Haldex system distributes power mainly on front wheels, while RS4’s Torsen Ratial favours the rear axis.

Audacity has confirmed that it will provide four engine configurations. The basic version will be equipped with a mechanical compressor at RS4’s V8 4.2-liter engine, developing 600 horsepower. The Stage Two package includes reinforcement of interior parts of the engine, as well as improvements to cooling and fuel supply systems, to reach 750 horsepower.

The most extreme version will have engines that reach up to 10,000 rounds per minute, while buyers can also choose to remove the compressor. All variants will use the original RS4-speed manual transmission.

The weight of cars built on the original Quattro chariot is expected to be between 1,400 and 1,450 pounds, while carbon fiber -bar versions will weigh about 1,200 kilograms.

The outer design was inspired by the Quattro version that competed in the Rain Race Group B, while some details also recall the competing IMSA GTO model of Audi 90. However, the car will not retain Audi’s logos, but the emblems specifically designed by Audacious.

Even the interior has been re-signed to restore Quattro’s harsh and minimalistic appearance. The instrument panel, indicators and commands are completely new, while RS4 digital equipment has been removed. However, the characteristic seats of RS4, equipped with electronic command, have been preserved.

The company promises widespread personalization so that none of the cars produced are identical to another. The buyers will be able to choose external color, internal materials, suspension configuration and mechanical specifications, depending on how they aim to use the car. The model presented in the photograph has 750 horsepower, is adapted mainly for street use, and is painted in the silver Zermat color.

Audacious plans to produce only 50 specimens at its headquarters in Edinburgh, while the first remittances to customers are expected to begin late next year. According to Zaglewski, the whole process — from ordering to finishing the car — lasts about three years.

The initial price is 350 thousand pounds, but this sum does not include VAT, the purchase of a donor car, transportation, registration and additional equipment selected by the client. /Telegraphy/
