The British company Audacious Automotive has introduced the IV model, a modern interpretation of legendary Audi Quattro, which comes on the V8 engine, to 750 horsepower and a alleged maximum speed of 322 km/h.
The new model combines the Audi RS4 B7 mechanical base, produced from 2006 to 2008, with the characteristic design of the short-based Quattro wheels.
The buyers will be able to choose between the original Quattro chariot and a new carbon fiber carriage. The latter is expected to be the most popular configuration, representing about 80 percent of the product.
Even though Audi Quattro became famous for the five-cendrian engine, Audacious has chosen RS4 V8 4.2-liter engine as the basis for its design. According to the company, this engine provides the right combination between modern performance and traditional driving experience.
The model will be provided at four engine configurations. The initial version, with mechanical compressor, will develop 600 horsepower, while the Stage Two package will increase power to 750 horsepower, thanks to internal reinforcements and improvements in cooling and fuel supply systems.
The most extreme version will reach 10,000 rounds per minute. All configurations will be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.
As far as weight is concerned, the original chariot – wheeled versions are expected to weigh between 1,400 and 1,450 pounds [1,450 kg], and those with carbon fiber – fiber wheels about 1,200 pounds [1,200 kg].
The outer design is inspired by the Audi Quattro of Group B in the Raly Races, with elements that also remember the competing model Audi 90 GTO. In the meantime, the interior has been completely rediagnosed, maintaining the minimalistic and analogic style of the classic model.
Audacious has announced that it will produce only 50 specimens at its headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland. The first shipments are expected to begin at the end of next year, while the process from ordering until the completion of the car could last about three years.
The model’s initial price is 350 thousand pounds, including VAT, donor car, transport, registration and additional equipment.
