Kosovo police have provided new details concerning the serious case in the village of Demaj in Gjilan, where a 27-year-old and three-month-old baby were found without signs of life.

Police spokesman for the Gjilan region, Ismet Hashani, has confirmed the news about Telegrafi.

According to police, the first investigation allegedly took place within the family, while the victim’s 65-year-old father was arrested as a suspect.

With the prosecutor’s decision, the suspect has been detained for 48 hours, made known in the police announcement.

The case was reported on November 1, 2026, about 8:47, when police had admitted information that a house in the village of Demajre was suspected of two lifeless persons.

Police units, State Prosecutor and the medical emergency team, where the deaths of the two had been determined.

At the State Prosecutor’s decision, lifeless bodies have been sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Pristina for organisation.

Police have announced that, in co-operation with the prosecution, they are continuing investigations into the full enlightenment and clarification of the circumstances of the case, which has already been described as serious murder.

Investigations into this event are under way.
