Klodiana Spahiu has been appointed the new Minister of Health in the Government of Albania, replacing Evis Sala, who resigned from this post a day ago.
Klodiana Spahiu completed her studies at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Medicine, “General Medicine” branch in 1997. Then, in 1998-2002, she specialized in the field of cardiology, in the same department at the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital in Tirana.
She has completed a number of specializations over the years, such as in the field of non-invasive cardiology: echocardiography, PU-EKG, carotid echo-doppler, at the Catholic University: “Sacro Cuore”, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery “Agostino Gemelli”, Rome, Italy.
In 2003-2004, he completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Preclinical Studies.
During the period October 2005 – December 2005, he completed specialization in the field of invasive cardiology, cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography, at the “Santa Chiara” hospital, Pisa, Italy.
Years later, from 2012-2014, she also completed a professional master’s degree in “health management”.
Spahiu practiced as a doctor in the first cardiology clinic at the University Hospital.
She also worked as a cardiologist and in the pathology department at Durrës Hospital from 2003 to 2009. She was later elected director of this hospital. She also has extensive experience in the field of pedagogy.
In 2002-2003, she was a lecturer at the Department of Preclinical Studies, University of Tirana, and in 2006, she was an external lecturer in the physiology course at “UFO” University, Tirana, writes TCh.
Year 2008 and onwards – Associate Professor in Cardiology Practice at the “Zonja e Kështil të Mirë” University, Tirana. She holds the title of “Doctor of Medical Sciences”.
