Trump counters election results that have not yet been held

US President Donald Trump has stated that he personally ordered the Justice Department to file a lawsuit for blocking the certificate of the Senate election results in Alaska, in case Republican Senator Dan Sullivan suffers defeat.

I’m the one who said: Do it, Trump told reporters Friday, as soon as he arrived in Florida.

The American Justice Department filed the indictment Thursday at a federal court in Alaska about ten days before the November 3rd elections.

It requires intervention in the process of certificate results, claiming that the presence of an almost identical candidate with that of the current senator could affect the outcome.

It’s Daniel J. Sullivan, who figures in the ballot in front of Republican Senator Dan Sullivan. According to the indictment, if the republican senator loses, the results should be blocked, with the argument that he would win if votes received by the similar-name candidate were attributed to him in the ranking voting system.

Republicans claim Daniel J. Sullivan could confuse voters. However, the Alaskan Supreme Court had earlier refused to turn him away from the ballot.

The indictment has sparked criticism within the republican ranks. Alaska’s Senator Lisa Murkowski stated on platform X that the Justice Department was not supposed to file this lawsuit.

She stressed that Alaskan citizens are able to decide for themselves who they want to vote for, adding that candidates on this year’s ballot have been clearly distinguished.

On the other hand, Democrats have accused Trump of trying to influence the outcome of the elections through federal institutions.

Donald Trump knows Dan Sullivan will lose his election, so now his Justice Department is presenting a false indictment to overturn Alaska’s voters’ will and steal elections in case of his defeat, said Devan Barber, executive director of the Democratic Committee for the Senate Field.

The Justice Department, meanwhile, says it aims to protect the integrity of the electoral process and ensure that controversial candidacy does not affect the will of voters.

Legal experts have named the indictment an unprecedented move, praising that the likelihood that it will succeed in court are small. /Telegraphy/
