Music legend Steve Wonder has initiated legal procedures to remove from his home a woman who, according to the indictment, has been living there for almost 40 years without rent.
Lawyers of the renowned singer, who is currently on tour of Europe, have handed over an indictment last Thursday at the Los Angeles court against Carmen Efferson. They want her to free the three-bedroom house in the Hollywood Hills area.

Efferson, who has reportedly been Wonder’s fiancée, has been living on this property since 1988. According to the indictment, she had reached an oral agreement with the singer at the time, under which she could live without rent.
Problems began in July, when Wonder’s representatives tried three times to inspect the house so that they could renew security police. However, Efferson did not allow them to enter either of these cases.
Instead, she sent an email to the singer’s lawyer, David Huff, in which, according to related documents, she wrote: Fuck you, give me a break.

After she was submitted by mail a new request for inspection of property, Efferson again responded with a harsh message.
With your racist, cold and privileged white man… I feel like you’re bothering me. As for your demands to enter the space where I live, I do not give my consent. Don’t try to contact me again, she wrote.
Huff responded by explaining that the letter in question had not been written by him, but his colleague from the legal office, Tempest Tatum, who, according to him, is neither racist nor cold nor white nor man.
After several other email exchanges, another Wonder lawyer announced to Efferson that their oral agreement, which had lasted for decades, was interrupted because she had not respected her terms.
She was reportedly due to leave the house until August 27, 2026, but did not.
For this reason, the singer’s lawyers filed the indictment last Thursday. Wonder now wants the court to order Efferson’s removal from property in Hollywood Hills, as well as to pay $600 in compensation for the expenses caused after the security police were not renovated in time. /Telegraphy/
