Daut Haradinaj, from the Alliance, has reacted after claims to connect the Haradinaj family with the suspect in the assassination of Arlinda Zekiaj in Pec, denying that his family’s last name could be used to create the impression that someone is immune.
Through a Facebook post, Haradinaj has said that photos of certain persons do not reason on crime, while he has warned legal measures against those who, according to him, include his family on unequivocal charges.

Last night’s heavy image in Pec, where one mother, Arlinda Zekinaj, was cruelly taken away, today at least needs political and parliamentary morality. He needs direct accountability, dismissals and penalties.
Anyone who connects the handbasket to powerful people, being called to the assumption that there was a strong arm and that no one could do anything, must realize that silence, toleration, and inaction in the face of such cases can bring you accomplices in a crime that could have been prevented.
As for the lawyer who represented Arlinda Zekaj, the question is: Why were these concerns not raised and institutional responses sought before this tragedy took place? Whether there were claims that the handis enjoyed protection or influence due to ties with the Haradinaj family, these claims should be treated responsibly and through institutional routes before such a tragedy occurred. Also, the Oda of Kosovo Lawyers must react to such statements and clarify any issues that fall into its professional responsibility.
And even with God if you have them, they don’t reason this macabre crime. No one can use the name Haradinaj to create the impression that someone is immune.
It’s not the first time we’ve faced such attempts, wearing us in close proximity to Pandora, property issues and charges of banditism, which have actually resulted in factory. My family and last name Haradinaj are no shield for anyone except what we have always protected — Kosovo’s freedom and institutions. We only protect these two.
The state’s failure to protect women who become victims of the catastrophic failure of justice and security institutions is a crime of crime.
Anyone mentioning our surname without any evidence will face legal consequences. Similarly, anyone who thinks that he can threaten someone by calling out to that name will face the same consequences. And, finally, anyone who feels threatened because someone has any relationship with us, let him contact us directly.
The armed struggle for us ended in 1999. Since that day, the only fight we have is for the security of every citizen of Kosovo, for its sovereignty and for its future, Haradinaj has written.
