Kosovo Customs reveals 113 smuggled mobile phones, no documentation for origin

Kosovo Customs, last night, on October 23rd 2026, following receiving information through operational routes, has organised and conducted a control operation on a business dealing with mobile phone trading.

Dogana reports that the operation was initially focused on controlling the business establishment, while then, based on operational information, the control has also expanded to a nearby business residence that was used to hide and preserve smuggled mobile phones.

During the search, customs officials have uncovered 113 smuggled mobile phones of various brands and models, including Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Xiaomi, Redmi, PCO, Google Pixel, OnePlus and Huawei.

For all revealed phones, the person responsible did not possess documentation that testifies to the legitimate origin of goods, importing them through regular customs procedures, or paying due customs duties, the report said.

As a result of this operation, all mobile phones have been banned from Kosovo Customs, while procedural action in line with the legislation in force has been undertaken against the suspected person.

The suspect person has been interviewed by competent officials and, at the order of the case prosecutor, has been released to proceed in regular procedure. /Telegraphy/
