Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky has declared that Ukraine wants to end the war as soon as possible and is ready for negotiations, after meeting with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Whitoff, in Oslo.

The meeting took place at the time when relations between Zelensky and Trump have deteriorated.

Zelensky has announced that Wtkoff will travel to Russia on Wednesday and that he wants the US envoy to forward to Moscow the ideas discussed for a possible peaceful solution, writes the BBC, broadcast Dukaagjini.

Ukrainian president has said one of the options discussed is to organise a meeting between the three leaders, but has stressed that it remains to be seen how Russian President Vladimir Putin will react.

Speaking of the results of the meeting, he has stressed that Ukraine aims to speed up efforts to conclude the war and that it is willing to sit at the negotiating table.
