Manchester Unitedi has again attracted investors’ attention from the Middle East, with groups from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates expressing interest in the club over the past 12 months.

The news has been revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs, who during a presentation on the United Stand has provided details of possible interest in new investments in the club by Old Tuffford.

Jacobs has explained that the contacts did not come from Sheikh Jassim, who in the past was involved in the race for the purchase of Manchester United. According to the journalist, private investors from Saudi Arabia have reviewed the possibility of joining capital to invest in the club, but this interest has remained at a general stage.

Meanwhile, interest by a group in the United Arab Emirates was more concrete, though even this process did not end with presenting an official offer. Bahrain has also had requests for information during the last year.

The journalist has also raised questions about the future of the current ownership structure at Manchester Unitedi, stressing that there is still no complete clarity about the Glazer family’s plans and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The latter bought a stake in the club and took control of football operations, but according to Jacobs, it remains unclear how the report between the two sides currently sharing Manchester United ownership will develop in the long-term.

At the moment, the interests reported by the Middle East have not produced any concrete bids for the club’s purchase, but confirm Manchester Unitedi continues to be in the attention of potential investors. /Telegraph/
