IThe institutions had information on family problems and family violence where a 27-year-old and his three-month-old daughter in the village of Demajj in Gjilan lost their lives.
The Centre for Social Affairs in Kamenica has confirmed this in an answer to KICS Kosovo, suggesting that the case was reported by police on April 10, 2026.

According to the QPS, the baby’s mother had been in contact with this institution as the victim of domestic violence.
The parents of the baby, who had been engaged, were separated during their wife’s pregnancy after their differences.
Mother had sought protection, while on the day of her birth, July 31, she had been declared unwilling to take care of her daughter.
The QPS suggests that the mother had not even asked to see the baby and had not named it by agreeing with what Dad had chosen.
Meanwhile, the QPS in Gjilan had informed him in Kamenica that Dad had problems with narcotics, but that he had been treated and his condition improved.
Despite this information, the two centers for social work had agreed that the baby would be entrusted to Father and his family.
In response to KIKS Kosovo, The QPS in Kamenica has acknowledged that at the time of putting the child into a family reunion, the decision was not available for an emergency defense order, which he had secured only later.
The institution has also revealed that there was no detailed information about Father’s psychological state and his treatment by mental – health professionals.
As the challenge in her work, the QPS has cited a lack of psychologist and insufficient staff number.
