The locals ended the seven-game championship-free series, while for Chelsea it was another disappointing loss of travel.

The first part was relatively calm, but Sunderland managed to create some dangerous cases. The crucial moment came in the 30th minute, when Levi Colell inflicted a penalty on Brian Brobby.

The white dot proved accurate by Enzo Le Fée, who defeated goalkeeper Mike Penders and gave the local team the advantage.

Chelsea tried to react, but she failed to create enough danger in front of the opposing gate. Coach Xabi Alonso tried to change the course of the meeting with several replacements, also activating Estevaon and then Danny Welbeck.

However, the Londoners failed to find the draw goal. The best case for them came at an extra time when Welbeck had the opportunity to score, but he couldn’t confirm it.

On the other hand, Sunderland was near the second goal, but Wilson Isidore was stopped by goalkeeper Penders.

With this victory, Sunderland ended the negative series and left the final position on the table, while Chelsea suffered another blow in the event for the score in Premierliga.
