The French company Renault, in collaboration with Belgian company John Cockerll, is developing a military electric vehicle without a crew, which can be controlled by distance and carried out missions in high-risk areas.
The vehicle, called ʹForront), is designed to support military operations through transport of equipment, surveillance, detection and evacuation, avoiding direct exposure of soldiers to danger.

The electric platform is equipped with a flight system on all four wheels and can carry loads up to one ton. Its autonomy is projected to be about 400 miles [400 km] while it is designed to cope with difficult terrain and tilt up to 60 percent.
Besides military use, the vehicle can also serve in rescue operations, interventions in dangerous areas, and logistics transport.
The project also envisions the development of autonomous functions, which in the future would enable the vehicle to move without the direct intervention of an operator.
The first tests on the ground are expected to take place over the coming weeks, in co-operation with France’s Armed Forces. So far, it has not been known when the vehicle’s greenhouse production can begin.
