Minister for Communities and Kthim in the Government of Kosovo Nenad Rassic says optimisticly that the victory of the Student List in Serbia has created conditions for the resumption of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

Commenting on the Student List’s statement that it will not co-operate with the Serbian List in Kosovo, Rassic for Radio Dukagjin said such an attitude is expected.

It must be understood that people who are deputies from the ranks of the Student List are mostly scientists, professors, however, a structure, say, the most advanced society in Serbia. So access to essence is absolutely different, because we know what Wuchiqi has got. Here he mentioned Banisca and other activities. Vuciqi has been a danger to the region, not only to Kosovo, but has been a danger to the region. In this conclusion I consider that each of the initiatives stemming from the student list, first, will be peaceful and will be dedicated to a dialogue, for comprehensive stability. And they themselves have warned that the first will be the continuation of dialogue with Kosovo and the stabilisation of relations, which for me is very significant. We will have a structure which is much more peaceful and democratic than what has represented the Vuciki system, with whom they will come. Therefore, I am very optimistic that very soon we will have youth, revival of dialogue, stressed

Minister for Communities and Kthim Nenad Rassic has estimated that the stable and ongoing dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia could create opportunities for accelerating the European integration of both countries.

I consider that many steps are in the midst of those recognitions or non-recognitions, especially in terms of developing standards which would be in favour of common EU approach. There I see a common opportunity, where Serbia and Kosovo, with a stable, ongoing dialogue, can then, for a relatively short period of time, be able to join the European Union. I consider this a chance both for Kosovo and for Serbia to accelerate approaching the European Union and in that form that we will be part of it at some point, he stressed.

Rassic in an interview for Radio Dukagjin has described the Student List’s position not to co-operate with the Serbian List in Kosovo, raising accusations of misuse of funds and saying representatives of this party must account for their activities.

In terms of work or co-operation, or even non-co-operation with the Serbian List on the student list, it’s absolutely normal. I even consider that if they’re rescued and not in prison, at least half of them, they should be very grateful. Remember that most of them are not only deputies in the Kosovo Assembly, but are also some chiefs, directors and heads in Serbia’s system. Therefore, I am sure that they will have to account for the funds they have used or misused on the part of Serbia’s system. So if they were rescued and not in prison for several months, I would have been surprised, Rassic stressed.

The Student List won parliamentary elections in Serbia, held on 25 October 2026, marking a major political turn after 14 years of ruling Aleksandar Vucinqi’s party.
