Albania’s Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has declared from Brussels that Serbia must recognise Kosovo.
That comment, the Albanian government chief gave in an interview for Euronews Enlargement Summi, where he spoke of the trip of the Western Balkans to the European Union.

He stressed that, although Serbia’s EU integration is important for the stability of the region, official Belgrade must show concrete results, meet non-negotiable conditions, as well as recognise the Republic of Kosovo.
What I know is that the winner in Belgrade does not show the opening for me and the Albanians, which is recognition of the Kosovo issue. This means that music in Belgrade will not change.
We are part of a region that is not yet fully a member of the EU and we are the ones who listen to lectures, we do not lecture, but Serbia is an important part of the mosaic of the Western Balkans.
I was a lawyer who should not let Serbia go in the wrong direction and abandon the European project. On the other hand, we know how things work.
When it comes to certain aspects, Serbia has testified to a reluctance towards Kosovo, but also about the stance it takes against Russia and sanctions.
We need Serbia to be with us, to be a part of the neighbourhood and to be a full part of the EU, but it has to show results and deserve that belonging, realizing what is non-negotiable with the EU, Rama said.
