Pristina Mayor Progress Rama has confirmed he will run for the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo in the domestic elections this party will have next year.

Rama made this known during a statement to reporters, where he was asked whether he would be part of the race for party leadership.

) Did you hear that I said yes, I would be a candidate for the LDK chairman? I have failed in Pristina, I am re-election chairman, I have brought the LDK first to Pristina, Rama said.

In addition to confirming his candidacy, Rama was also asked about the position regarding the possibility of the resignation of current LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku.

He said Abdixhiku would have to resign from the party leader’s position.

I think it would have done well to resign Lumir Abdixhiku, so it should have been, Rama said.
