Russia has attacked Kiev with ballistic missiles, while Ukraine has sent hundreds of fears towards Moscow overnight, continuing attacks between the two countries despite the United States’ recent efforts to end the war.
On Wednesday, Russia said it is ready to resume talks with Ukraine mediated by the US next month. The announcement came after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with US envoy Steve Whitoff in St Petersburg, writes. ReutersThis is Dukeagini.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also voiced hope that the negotiations, which would be the first since February, could take place in early November.
According to Ukrainian authorities, Russia has launched at least 21 ballistic missiles in three waves of attacks. Meanwhile, the Russian side claimed Ukraine had launched 630 fears towards Moscow capital overnight.
Meanwhile, both sides have exchanged troops of slain soldiers. According to state news agency Belta, headquartered in neighbouring Belarus, Russia handed over 252 troops to Ukraine, while Ukraine handed over 25. Such exchanges have previously accompanied efforts to start negotiations.
However, despite statements of some progress in the talks, the Kremlin has expressed reservations for the controversial proposals. Witkoff had spoken of some positive dynamics following meetings he held in Oslo with Zelensky and European and NATO representatives at the beginning of the week.
These new shades, as it were, do not satisfy us fully, said Yuri Usshakov, a Kremlin adviser, referring to proposals discussed in Oslo.
A senior Russian official, informed of the meeting between Putin and Witkoff, said the talks had been relatively short and had not produced substantial discussions. According to this source, the US envoy had handed Putin over for a review of a set of proposals drafted during meetings in Oslo.
Another source near the Kremlin said the American proposals included a scenario under which Ukraine would hand over the entire Donbas region to Russia in exchange for a guarantee of its future security from NATO.
Russia has declared that one of the reasons for the start of war — the deadliest in Europe since World War II — was preventing Ukraine’s membership in NATO. Moscow has reiterated that it will not end fighting without territorial concessions from Ukraine, restrictions on its military forces, and a permanent pledge not to join military alliances.
Ukraine, on the other hand, describes the Russian invasion as a war of unprotested aggression and has consistently rejected Moscow’s conditions. Kiev argues that Russian demands constitute an effort to force the country to surrender and leave it vulnerable to possible future attacks.
