Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians have remained without electricity this morning, following Russian attacks on energy infrastructure in four regions of the country during the night, Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky announced.
He said the attacks have caused major power cuts, while warning that Russia is trying to exploit the lack of interceptive missiles for air defence.

The intensity of the attacks is too high, and the Russians are aiming to make the most of the lack of ballistic missile interceptive missiles, Zelensky said, broadcast Telegraphy.
Ukraine continues to face critical shortages of interceptive missiles for Patriot air defence systems, which are among the few means capable of bringing down ballistic missiles.
The agreement announced this week, enabling Ukraine to purchase 500 interceptive missiles from the United States, has been welcomed by Kiev. However, under current conditions, the first shipments are expected to arrive in a few years.
Zelensky announced that only during the last week alone, Russia has launched an attack on Ukraine 1,000 and 940 drones, more than a thousand and 580 cruise air bombs and 44 rockets, including 36 ballistic missiles.
He warned that Moscow is relying more and more on ballistic missiles during this winter, when it is expected to intensify attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, with the aim of putting pressure on the population. /Telegraphy/
