Some citizens have gathered in front of the Kosovo Government building to request the resignation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his government.
Organiser Durim Aliu has said that the small number of protesters do not despair or repel them from the decision to come out and protest.

We know most people can’t get out here because they risk their jobs. We know that this regime of Albin Kurt is not far from here. We won’t stop with protests, we’ll fill up the city square, he said.
Protester Prince Zogaj, in his address, has sought accountability from the Government, saying citizens are losing patience and young people hope for the future in Kosovo. He has criticised the situation in education, citing PISA results, student conditions and lack of employment prospects.
I want to ask this government two questions this failed: How long will he deceive us with promises? How long will you seek patience when citizens are losing patience when youth is losing hope and Kosovo is losing young?
Today we’re not here to listen to you, but we’re here to ask you for an account! Let’s talk a little bit about education. PISA results show education in Kosovo is nearing its end. Similarly, students are facing difficult conditions, insufficient scholarships, lack of professional practice and conditions for employment.
Tell us about the future of Kosovo, but what future are you approaching? Diplomas without perspective and years of free work study. And then you wonder why the young people are leaving! When between 2020 and 2026 Kosovo was released by over 200,000 young men and women. Do you understand what that means? A country that loses its generation cannot boast of development talks.
Also, let’s talk a little bit about defence, where our sister Arlinda’s tragic case has shown us that Kosovo’s protective chain is a failure, and this cannot end only with institutional talks.
Our women do not need comfort, they need protection, alive!
And let’s talk a little bit about the KLA. We cannot allow the issue of our former leaders to be dealt with in silence and without institutional commitment; where if sentences are confirmed even in appeals, the consequences could be heavy on the history of our pure liberation war, on the way the road of Kosovo is valued and the approach to other states of the world, he said.
Meanwhile, protester Adrian Mustafa has criticised Albin Kurti’s rule, calling it the worst since the end of the war. It has cited the economic situation, high prices, wages and lack of energy projects.
We are seeing every day how life in Kosovo is moving towards degradation, failure and loss of hope. From June 1999 until today, Kosovo has never experienced the worst, weaker, most failed government in every realm of Kosovo’s citizen. So Kosovo is not well. Youth is leaving, unemployment is at the lowest level, while wages are not producing any positive effects in the face of such high prices. This regime of Albin Kurti has killed the citizens’ lives, leaving Kosovo the poorest country in the region, with low wages, high prices and no prospects. This government fraud, both in opposition and in power, has brought only disaster to the Republic of Kosovo. This regime has left us in the dark. Every winter we spend billions of dollars on our carmers who have slaughtered us and cut us off. This regime of Albin Kurti has left Kosovo without power project, which we are almost like Kosovo to produce and sell electricity itself through two energy projects: American gas and Kosovo Global project, supported by our allies, the United States of America and other allies, he said.
Analyst Adem Qorrolli also attended the protest, who said promises of a high standard living Kosovo have not been fulfilled, while raising concerns about the state of the elderly, lack of medicine for cancer patients, and, as he claimed, the uneven treatment of certain categories.
It’s no longer bread with me 0.025 cents, it’s no longer meat with me 8 euros, it’s no longer wages of 2,000 euros, it’s no longer Kosovo Switzerland, but in Switzerland we have more than 200,000 family members, and today we have only, say without supervision and without the hand of the state. And I also welcome fellow villagers who should come and join us for the payment of electricity for a 200-euro family, for the cost of living a family of 3 members because we don’t have 5, two of us live outside, now we have an average of 3 members.
To die of an old man in our apartment and to find him after four days because there is no state supervision, to die of cancer, to die of our mother because she has no medicine, to pay the Serbs without working in the government, and the additions of KSF soldiers, not to be paid any night shift, to see soldiers working taxis and waiters, to see police working at nightclubs. Is that interest? And look at the uniform, it’s not these two police patrols, or the two regiments, but it’s a couple of fines that seven years haven’t taken a uniform. Their shoes are not the same, because some have been bought in stores 5 euros and in shopping and are not in the state, and some cannot end the rules. And in Kosovo, it happens that 500 soldiers are employed and yet the same number of soldiers are, because 200 of us retire and 300 leave the army, do not desert, go to protect their identity and protect their family, feed their family, has declared Corrroll.
The protest is associated with calls Down to Albin Kurti’s regime and resignation.
