British journalist Pierre Morgan has reacted to the situation created about Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Jorge Jesus, revealing the background that, according to him, led to the removal of the Portuguese star from the national gathering.
Morgan insisted that the issue is not about money, fame, or status, but about the respect and promises that Ronaldo believed would be made to manage his minutes with Portugal.

None of this has to do with money, fame, or anything like that. He was given clear guarantees of how he would be used. That was one reason why he decided to continue his career with the nationals. The young coach, Jorge Jesus, said: Here’s what I want you to do, Morgan said.
According to the journalist, the agreement between Ronaldo and Jesus was for the attacker to play his first two games while then taking a break at the next two meetings.
In the first fight, he was told he’d play 90 minutes. That was the deal between coach and player and it’s important to remember the footballer’s status that we’re talking about. But he was replaced in the 67th minute, so he was kind of angry, Morgan showed.
He added that Jesus later apologized to Ronaldo, even to the president of Portugal’s Football Federation, promising to go out publicly to explain the situation.
But he did the opposite. Turned out and tried to minimize Ronaldo and put him in his place, saying all the players are important to him. This made Ronaldo even more angry, Morgan said.
According to him, Jesus later asked Ronaldo to play about 30 minutes in the match against Norway, despite his previous agreement to give him a break.
Coach said: I know we agreed to give you a break in the next two games, but I want you to play 30 minutes against Norway. Ronaldo replied: All right, if that’s what you want, I’ll do it.
However, the situation took another turn. Ronaldo was pissed off for about 25 minutes during the match against Norway, but in the end it didn’t work out.
Royaldo got angry for 25 minutes, but he never got into the field. So he was irritated by the lack of respect and by the fact that the coach did not keep his word, Morgan stressed.
According to British journalist, it was above all a matter of respect for Ronaldo.
He was promised one thing, but the opposite happened. He got angry but didn’t get used at all, which he saw as a sign of disrespect. Finally, he said fucking with you, got on the plane and left, Morgan said.
Morgan added that Ronaldo is convinced that Jesus had a different approach in the background by what he publicly displayed at media conferences.
His argument is that this coach continued to appear at press conferences and say something completely contrary to what Ronaldo told behind closed doors, Morgan concluded. /Telegraphy/
