Crédit Mutuel Arkéa announced on Wednesday that a cyber attack has enabled the conduct of fraudulent transactions, but assured that none of her clients will suffer financial losses.

The French bank, headquartered in the British region of western France, announced that its teams have identified the attack and that the situation is already under control, foreign media write.

Bank leaders said they have taken the decision to temporarily suspend certain transactions, aimed at ensuring the safety of operations and preventing any new fraudulent movement.

According to the regional newspaper ʹLe Télégramme], 133m dollars (118m euros have been stolen.

The bank has not confirmed this figure, but has declared another French newspaper, Le Le Parisienım, that some funds are blocked and that the amount involved is still being assessed.

Deception was first made public by Zach XBT, an independent investigator specialising in tracking cryptovaluta transactions.

According to the AFP agency, ZachXBT said the stolen funds were passed through numerous accounts on platforms for exchange of cryptovaluts.

The Bank announced that suspended transactions would resume soon after final security checks have been completed and relevant measures implemented.

She did not elaborate on how the attack was carried out, nor did she identify who could be responsible for it.

News of this cyberattack comes after news that refrigerators and freezers at dozens of stores in Belgium and Luxembourg were affected by such attacks.

Meanwhile, similar temperatures were reported in some supermarkets in Sweden, where one of the shops described the event as cyberattack.

And those incidents followed an attack on France last month, during which, according to police, hackers took control of cooling units in hundreds of supermarkets.

This led to temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Celsius), causing fires and loss of food products.

And these were not the only attacks reported by authorities in several European countries. /Telegraph
