A widespread anti-mafia operation in Italy, Spain and Switzerland has resulted in the arrest of 30 people and sequenting assets worth over 21m euros.
According to the Swiss newspaper LaRegione, Albanian collaborators have allegedly been involved in the alleged criminal network.

The Italian Guardia di Finanza investigations uncovered an illegal financial structure, which investigators describe as hidden banks. It was allegedly used for money laundering by tax fraud, drug trafficking, and weapons fraud.
According to investigators, the organisation allegedly issued extinguishable bills worth more than 110m euros, while around 68m euros were allegedly cleaned up internationally through cryptovaluts.
According to the Swiss media report, the network was supported by Chinese and Albanian collaborators. However, their identities have not been disclosed and it has not been confirmed whether any Albanian citizens are among the persons arrested.
During the operation, a 62-year-old Italian citizenship born in Naples was also arrested in Lugano, Switzerland. He allegedly had a role in transferring money and converting them to cryptovaluta.
The suspect is being held in custody pending extradition procedures.
The operation was conducted under the co-ordination of Italian authorities, with controls in Switzerland’s Ticino Canton and Spain.
