The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has criticised the LeBron James basketball star for his conduct during the intonation of the national anthem at Madison Square Garden the day before.

This came in, as before a James game, he was on the heat and he didn’t stand still when the US anthem was launched.

As our national anthem was being heard, LeBron James showed disrespect for our country! From the beginning I have said that he is not worth a real shame. LeBron James should apologize to all those great American warriors and heroes who died for the American flag and for everything our country represents, Trump wrote on the social network Social Truth Social.

In a video published from the moment in question, James is seen moving and practicing his shootings, while the American national anthem is heard in the background.

Trump’s reaction came Thursday, turning the basketball star’s behaviour during the ceremony into a public and political issue. /Telegraphy/
