Kosovo President Justina Shiroka-Pula has made the decision to return to the Assembly for review of the Law for Change and Fulfilling the Law for Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office.
Decision Comes Following Official Proposal of Kosovo Democratic Party Parliamentary Group ( PDK, as law sponsor, to give the Parliament the opportunity to reconsider it.

According to the presidency’s announcement, the review is particularly linked to provisions for jurisdiction and mandate of Specialised Chambers, as well as to ensuring the constitutional rights of persons being tried in The Hague.
In rationalising the decision, the president has praised the sacrifice and contribution of the Kosovo Liberation Army ( U n CK) and its leaders in fighting for the country’s freedom and independence.
It has also recalled its support for the Kosovo Parliament Declaration of 28 September 2026, regarding the act of Specialised Chambers in The Hague against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
The president has reiterated opposition to any attempt to distort Kosovo’s historic truth, question the liberation character of the war or equate the people who fought for freedom with the regime that oppressed it.
It becomes known that Shiroka-Pula has developed and is continuing consultations with representatives of relevant state institutions and subjects, with the aim of co-ordinating institutional and diplomatic actions to protect and affirm the historical truth of the KLA war, as well as to protect the rights and interests of its leaders being tried in The Hague.
