Samir Nasri criticised Harry Kane after the English assailant’s triumph in the Golden Ball race, questioning his ability to decide the fate of the biggest matches.
Manchester City’s former midfielder does not contest the quality of Bayern Munichu’s attacker, but believes extraordinary statistics are not enough to fully justify gaining the most prestigious individual prize in football.

Kane won the Golden Ball at a ceremony in London, leaving Kylian Muppen of Real Madrid behind and Barcelona talent Lamine Yamal. This triumph made him the first Englishman in 25 years to win this award.
The 33-year-old striker was rewarded after an extraordinary season, in which he recorded 73 goals and eight assets in 65 presentations with the club and nationals.
At Bayern Munichu alone, Kane scored 61 goals in 51 matches, setting a new club record for a season. His contribution helped the bavarez giant win two local trophies.
However, these figures have not fully convinced Nasrin, who expressed surprise at the outcome of the vote during a presentation on French television Canal+.
Harry Kane, Golden Ball… All right, the statistics made the difference, Nasri said.
Later, the former French promoter explained his reservations to the English assailant, emphasising his influence on the crucial matches.
He’s a great footballer, with many qualities. But he has never been the player who has led his team to success or who has made the team win really big matches.
There’s always a little weakness. However, he is an extraordinary player, Nasri said. /Telegraph/
