KLA War Veterans Organisation ( OVL- The KLA has expressed concern over the debate over the fulfillments and amendments to the Kosovo Specialised Chambers Law, calling on parliamentary parties not to use this issue for party interests.
In a reaction, O VL- The KLA has named this law important for the liberation war and for former KLA leaders being tried at The Hague. The organisation has expressed dissatisfaction with the sentence pronounced on the first degree, calling it unfair and political.
According to the OVL-KLA, judicial experts supporting the organisation estimate there are no legal barriers to the adoption of the law and that the process depends on political will.
The organisation has also rejected claims that involvement in the issue of war crimes forgiveness is unconstitutional. According to her, the current law on Specialised Chambers regulates the issue of pardoning and easing sentences, giving this authority to Specialised Chambers Speaker Ekaterina Trendafilova.
O V The L-KLA estimates that since most MPs have expressed willingness to vote on the law, proposals for new provisions should not be used as reasons for procrastinating or obstructing the process.
In this direction, the organisation has called on all political parties to, if the law returns to the Assembly, complements and changes needed to be made without delay and to be adopted by accelerated procedures.
