The working group founded by the Government of Kosovo for drafting the state strategy regarding the appeals process in The Hague specialised Chambers has gathered this Saturday, with the aim of co-ordinating actions for the next phase of the judicial process against former KLA leaders.
At this meeting, issues related to the appeal procedure of the first degree act against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi were sentenced to a total of 81 years in prison on 16 September.

Keeping the meeting was warned Thursday by Foreign Affairs Minister Glauk Konjufca, who heads the Workers’ Group. He had announced that the meeting would last several hours and that members would be engaged throughout the day to address the issue.
Before the start of the meeting, members of the group have not been declared to the media, while having announced that their positions would present them after the end of the meeting.
On 16 September, four former KLA leaders were sentenced to 81 years in total prison for war crimes, including illegal detention, cruel treatment, torture and unlawful killings. They were acquitted of crimes against humanity.
