A technology company in San Francisco has published a job offer offering $20 an hour for people willing to walk robot dogs for four to six hours a day.
The Dimensional Company first released the announcement to the group Bay Area Jobs on Facebook, but then erased it. According to the offer, employees would have to walk robotic dogs equipped with computer systems in public areas of the city for at least four hours.

Candidates had to be able to safely transport some 50 pounds [15 kg]. If any of the robots were to fall short during the walk, employees would have to carry it to the company’s address, which is located in the Dugpatch district of San Francisco.
Dimensional founder Stash Pomitchter said the company is working on developing an open-code operating system that would enable robots to perform heavy physical work, transmit Telegrafi.
However, initial tests have shown that artificial intelligence systems are not yet as effective as humans in controlling robots. For this reason, walks with the help of human operators are aimed at collecting more data to improve technology.
Our experiment with dog walks showed that agents are still too weak to control physical equipment. People still have to be part of the process, Pomitchter stated to The New York Times.
The company’s robotic dogs were bought by Chinese University manufacturer, at a price of $2,000 per unit.
The experiment shows that despite the progress of artificial intelligence, human intervention remains necessary for the safe functioning and control of robots in real environments. /Telegraphy/
