Erling Haaland has left Cristiano Ronaldon behind in the world’s ranking of world’s most commercial football players for 2026, according to the annual classification published by the magazine SportsPro.
Manchester City’s attacker ranks fourth place on the overall list of 50 most commercial athletes, being the only football player in the first ten.
The ranking is designed after the assessment of 1,202 athletes from 70 different disciplines, taking into account personal brand power, current impact and commercial potential for the future.
tennis player Arina Sabalenka, followed by skier Eileen Gu and basketball player Giannis Antetokompo. Hawaii takes fourth place, while Carlos Alkaraz is fifth.
Ronaldo falls from fifth to 14th
The most obvious decline in this ranking is that of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star, which in 2025 was in fifth place, is ranked 14th this year.
However, this does not necessarily imply a drop in the value of his personal brand. According to SportsPro, new methodology costs more importance to the momentum and potential for commercial growth.
Meanwhile, Hawaii has expanded its influence even outside the football field, especially through social networks. Its YouTube channel, opened in October 2025, has reached 4.6 million subscribers and nearly 250 million views.
Where do Mbps, Winnitius, Yamal and Messi rank?
On the same list, Kylian Mbppe ranks 19th, Winnicius Junior in his 20th, Lamine Yamal in 23rd, while Lionel Messi is ranked 27th.
Hawaii continues to expand its commercial profile through co-operation with internationally recognised brands, including Nike, Beats by Dre, Breitling and Budweiser.
The ranking of SportsPro measures the commercial influence of athletes and the potential of their personal brand, not their sports performance.
