Fermín López has downplayed his chances of competing with Raphael for Pichich’s trophy after marking two goals in Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
The midfielder was crucial to the Catalan triumph at the Metropolitano, marking the draw target in the extra minutes of the first half, before he achieved the victory goal in the 66th minute.

Asked if he could compete with Raphael for the award of La League’s best goal scorer, Fermín said he does not believe he can achieve it.
I don’t think I’m gonna make it, because Raphael’s playing it amazingly, and I’m sure he’s gonna keep scorein’! As long as I can help the team, I’m happy.
The 22-year-old also praised Barcelona’s reaction after the break between the parts, explaining that the players knew they should keep up with the pace and game they had shown at the end of the first part.
On vacation we knew that we should continue to play the way we finished the first part, he declared.
I think the team developed a second extraordinary part, both defensive and offensive. We’re so happy, Fermín. /Telegraphy/
