Kosovo Prime Minister and Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti, on the 10th anniversary of the death of this party’s activist, Astrit Dehari, has declared he was killed in Prizren prison.

In a memorial speech, Kurti has recalled the arrest and detention of Dehar, criticising the fact that he had been held for 68 days without an indictment and without a trial against him.

Astrit Dehar was imprisoned without indictment, without trial, with no sentence, and for 68 days in prison he was never questioned. However, in A3 prison cell in Prizren, Kurti has declared it.

He said that, according to him, a crime had been committed from the day of his arrest until the day he lost his life, ten years ago.

Umbi Astrin committed a crime from the day they were arrested until the day he was killed 10 years ago. We were shocked when he was arrested and he was held in prison without a charge.

Kurt has also criticised the procrastination of investigation into the case, stressing that even after a decade, it is unknown who is responsible for the activist’s death.

Vetevendosje’s leader has also claimed that reports of forensic institutions in Kosovo and Switzerland have ruled out the possibility of Dehar committing suicide.

He has even mentioned the subsequent death of Dehar’s roommate in prison, saying his case has added further concern over the circumstances of events in Prizren prison. /Telegraphy/
