Turkey will continue its efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Thursday, voicing his intention to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Like Turkey, we are doing everything we can to pave the way for peace and we will continue to do so. After our meeting with President Zelensky, we now want to address the Russian side of the issue by holding talks with President Putin, Erdogan told reporters on his return flight from South Korea.

Referring to Ukrainian President Wolfymyr Zelensky’s visit to Turkey on Saturday, Erdogan said they discussed the importance of diplomatic efforts to end the war.
He said he stressed the importance of pursuing diplomatic initiatives through negotiations during the meeting.
Erdogan added that Turkish officials, particularly Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, will continue discussions with their Russian counterparts to prepare for possible talks.
