Democrats in the United States have reached 240 seats in the House of Representatives, following several other confirmed victories during Wednesday afternoon, while counting votes continues in dozens of contests where winners are not yet known.
According to CNN projections, the result represents a major success for the Democratic Party and a strong political blow to American President Donald Trump, in the Muslim elections, which usually serve as a measure of public support for the president and his administration.

In the Senate, the Democrats have already secured 54 seats, as they managed to win seven seats previously held by the Republicans. However, competitions in Mississippi and Alaska remain open, while differences between candidates are very small. The outcome of the count in these two countries may take several days, even weeks.
The results thus far give the Democrats control of both chambers of the American Congress, the House of Representatives and the Senate. This change will take place officially in January 2027, when the new members of Congress begin their mandate.
Meanwhile, reactions and efforts to find those responsible for the poor election outcome have started within the Republican Party. On the other hand, Democrats have begun to present their priorities for the period when they will take over Congress.
The victory gives the Democrats the opportunity to prevent part of Trump’s agenda, increase oversight of his administration and launch parliamentary investigations.
The Muslim elections are held amid the US president’s four-year mandate and are considered an important test for his support. This time around, the result presents a major blow to Trump, who had sought support for republican candidates. /Insander.org/
