East India is facing heavy rainfall and extreme weather after the Murasu Cyclone has hit the banks of the country, causing the evacuation of thousands of inhabitants.

This is the second cycle affecting the region within a week, increasing concerns about floods, material damage and disruptions of public services.

Authorities have activated emergency measures and are working to displace residents from the most endangered areas.

Rescue teams are on alert, while citizens have been asked to avoid travel and follow the guidelines of relevant institutions.

The situation remains under monitoring, while the damage caused by the storm is expected to be assessed.
