Switzerland’s Foreign Affairs Minister and OSCE leader Ignazio Cassis has visited Kosovo today.
Amid official meetings, Cassis met with his Albanian counterpart, Glauk Konjufca.

At the joint media conference, the Swiss minister has stressed that the role and co-operation between the two states, which started many years ago.
I first came to Pristina as a member of the government of Switzerland, even though we have meetings for many years, I’m glad I’m in Pristina today. Kosovo and Switzerland have stories of co-operation, as we were among the first states to have recognised Kosovo as a state, so in the first few hours and our ties are powerful.
For this reason, we have also opened the border, where from Kosovo they have come to Switzerland to live and work many Albanians, whom we call the Swiss diaspora. There are some 150 thousand Kosovo Albanians in Switzerland, which is down to 10% of the population, who have a Kosovo passport but who conducts the event there. Among the Albanians, we have the football hero, and I believe you know who I’m talking about, said the Swiss minister.
Similarly, Cassis has mentioned three points that are important to him, that should be done between the two states, especially the third point, to be given important in Kosovo, Telegrafi writes.
I’d like to give importance to three important points, the first is economic co-operation, especially with the launch of the October 1st implementation of the agreement withEFTA and after 2029, this co-operation is still increasing. The second point is stability and peace in the western region, where Switzerland has made 3 billion euros, as a contribution for that stability to be maintained today.
The third point, to be respected, is communities. For me, being Italian, today I speak German, because there are many Albanians speaking the language in German – speaking Switzerland.
Therefore, he was invited to further integrate these communities, not only the Serb one, but, all ethnicities living in Kosovo, the Swiss minister concluded.
On the other hand, Casic was thanked for all the contribution Switzerland has made for years in Kosovo./Telegraphy/
