Bajrami criticises Kurti, says the budget first switched to LVV’s filter, then will be approved in Government.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP ( The LDK), Hykmete Bajrami, has criticised Prime Minister Albin Kurti for failing to adopt the 2027 Budget Bill within the legal deadline, accusing him of putting the party on state institutions.
Through a Facebook post, Bajrami has said that, under the Law on Public Finance Management and Responsibilities, the Government is obliged to hand over the Parliament no later than October 31st.
She has stressed that, although the deadline ends on October 31st, the draft budget has not yet been adopted in Government.
According to Bajrami, Kurti has warned at the meeting of the Vetevendosje Movement General Council that the budget will be approved on Monday, November 2nd.
LDK MP has recalled that last year, on October 31st, Kurti had declared that the budget was approved within the legal deadline.
It has also criticised the prime minister for the way he handles the budget approval process.
But since we have already already slipped into the party-state, the Republic budget first passed the filter of the LVV General Council, then it will be approved in Government and after any legal term would be submitted to the Parliament, Bajrami wrote.
It has also raised questions about the warning of over one billion euros for capital investments, saying their assessment will take place after the draft budget is published.
Bajrami has also cited delays in completing the Gjilan Highway, for which, according to her, some 80m euros have been spent, while the project has not yet been completed.
It has also criticised the procrastination of other road projects, stressing that the division of paper tools does not necessarily imply the realisation of investments.
One thing is to divide 1 billion euros into paper, and quite another to turn them into roads, schools, hospitals and completed projects, she wrote.
In the end, the LDK deputy has demanded respect for the law and deadlines from state institutions.
The budget is state/citizens, not party. Law and legal deadlines are valid and must also be respected by government officials, Bajrami has concluded.
