Lawyer Africa Salihu, who represents the Shala family, whose three-year-old daughter died in February this year after an intervention at the Orthopedic Clinic in KKUK, has declared that despite continued demands, she has received no official response from the State Prosecutor and Kosovo Police concerning the case.

Salihu, invited to ʹ IN Dukagjin, he has announced that he first accepted all the information on the case, while in February 2026 he was addressed to the State Prosecutor, originally via email and then by official paperwork, seeking information on the progress of the investigation.

He has said that until now it has not been announced whether the decision has been made to initiate investigations, whether witnesses or suspected persons have been interviewed, or whether the indictment has been filed.

I, even though I insisted on a host of emails and official paperwork, have not officially accepted any communication from the State Attorney or the Kosovo Police. I don’t officially know if there’s a decision to start an investigation, whether, who, or who, has any witnesses been questioned, is someone taken as a suspected party and, if so. I was constantly interested, but I didn’t get any answers, Salih declared.

Due to lack of answers, the lawyer has indicated that the day before he was officially addressed to Pristina’s chief prosecutor.

He says that lack of information about the stage in which the case occurs is struggling to exercise his rights as the family’s legal representative.

I didn’t take any calls, no emails. Therefore, I have officially turned to Pristina Foundation Prosecutor’s Chief Prosecutor with all things, since as a lawyer I have been violated all rights because I’m not getting any information on which stage we are at. We don’t know if anyone’s been questioned, whether the charge was filed, and no other information, he said.
