DNA analyses have confirmed that the US serial killer, Ted Bundy, was responsible for the murder of 17-year-old Laura Ann Aime, who disappeared in 1974 in the state of Utah. For more than five decades, the case has been officially closed by American authorities.
Ayme disappeared on the night of October 31, 1974, after leaving a party alone to go to a store. Her body was found several weeks later on Thanksgiving, from two students near a street in the American Fork Canyon.

From the outset, investigators suspected that the murder could be linked to Bundy, since the manner of the attack was in harmony with that of his other crimes. However, available evidence at the time was not enough to close the case, writes cn.
Prior to his execution in 1989, Bundy had admitted responsibility for Aime’s death, but he had not provided enough details to confirm his involvement. Hence, the authorities decided to keep the case open.
Progress in forensic technology enabled them to review preserved evidence. New DNA analyses, conducted by forensic experts at Utah, finally confirmed Bundy’s connection to the murder.
Ted Bundy is considered one of the most notorious serial killers in U.S. history. He was arrested in 1978 and admitted that he had killed 36 young women, though he is suspected that the number of his victims may have been greater.
Bundy was convicted of several murders and executed on the electric chair in Florida in 1989. His crimes were committed mainly during 1974,1978, and are linked to several American states, including Washington, Oregon, Utah and Colorado. /Telegraphy/
