Albania’s Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has called on citizens, regardless of political beliefs, to come out in support of students and young people who have been protesting in Tirana for days.
In a video message published today, Berisha accused the government of excessive use of violence against protesters and invited citizens to meet tomorrow at 10:00 to join the protest.
According to him, during a week of protests, over two thousand young people, including high school students, students, and minors, have been violated, detained, or arrested.
Berisha described the situation as the return of red terror, claiming that rule forces have used rubber sticks, tear gas and rubber bullets in a disproportionate way. He said the consequences have affected not only protesters, but also journalists and residents of surrounding areas.
