Kosovo President Justina Shiroka-Pula is participating in the event, which stressed the importance of the Constitutional Court’s independence and respect of the Constitution from all institutions in the country.

She said the Constitution guarantees that no one will be above the law and that power will be exercised responsibly, protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms.

According to her, the Constitutional Court’s independence is not only a legal principle, but a fundamental guarantee for democracy, rule of law and citizens’ trust in institutions. She stressed that this mission becomes even more important in times of political crisis when respect for constitutional principles is put to the test.

Meanwhile, Constitutional Court Chairman Nexhami Rexhepi said the institution has set stable standards in defence of constitutional identity, guaranteeing respect for rule of law, democracy and liberal model principles.

This conference aims to stress the importance of constitutional justice in ensuring the superiority of the Constitution, protection of citizens’ rights and maintaining balance among state institutions.
