In addition to top police officials, the event was Deputy Interior Minister Enver Dugolli. The latter has expressed deep appreciation for the work and sacrifice of the fallen police officers and their family members.

Their sacrifice reminds us that service in the Kosovo Police is not just a profession, but it is a mission in the service of law, order, public safety and the lives of citizens, so the traditional Kosovo Police Games are an expression of respect, gratitude and institutional culture for those who gave their lives in the service of our republic and citizens, Enver Dugolli said.

And on behalf of the Kosovo Police Union, police members and today’s contestants have been addressed to its chairman, Avdi Hoti.

Dear colleagues, the uniform you wear today is not just uniform, it represents responsibility, sacrifice, courage and trust. So keep it with pride and dignity because it was kept before us by those who are not in life today and who gave their lives for Kosovo. Every race and every applause today should be a sign of respect for our colleagues who sacrificed their lives for Kosovo, Hoti said.

Such organizations prove that institutional memory, solidarity and respect for those who gave their lives in the service of the country, and citizens are values that we should preserve and follow back generations, said Lieutenant Colonel Arbresh Ajvazi, director of the Department of Public Order.

Meanwhile, Baki Kelani, spokesperson for the Kosovo Police, said that the reverence and commemoration of the parable of 26 Kosovo heroes who did not save their lives in the defence of the country and its citizens will be in our hearts and minds every time.

At the start of the traditional memorial contest, the first to touch the ball in the midfield, was the son of Kosovo hero Africa Bulnjak.

Kosovo police spokeswoman said that within this traditional event, except in football, the Kosovo Police Union has also organised competitions in volleyball, chess and gun shooting, while the Cup of these races is dedicated to Kosovo hero Africa Bulnjak.
